The Columbus East Food Pantry will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday for drive up/pickup/no contact distribution of pre-bagged collections of food, with enough for approximately 180 families.
This distribution is open to the community and not limited to only Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. students and their families. Pickup point is at East’s door 31 in the west parking lot behind the school near the tennis courts.The school is at 230 S. Marr Road.
Columbus Animal Services will also have dog food while supplies last.
Also, organizers have established the distribution schedule for the 2020-2021 school year.
Student distributions: Pre-bagged food will be available to students after school every Friday.
For the 2020-2021 community distribution schedule: There will be one drive up/pickup/no contact distribution of pre-bagged food each month open to the community from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at door 31. To ensure student safety during bus and family pickup after school, members of the community should not enter the west parking lot until 3:30 p.m. The next distribution after Friday’s will be Aug. 21.
