Wilderness first aid course happening in August

DNK Presents will host a wilderness first aid (WFA) course at the Brown County History Center, 90 E. Gould St., on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 22 and 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

The course is entry-level and geared toward outdoor enthusiasts looking to learn more about wilderness medicine and first aid in the backcountry so they can be confident in the outdoors alone or with a group.

WFA covers preparation and prevention to assessment and treatment of injuries that may occur in the wilderness. Students will have an opportunity to learn practical skills through hands-on scenarios as well as in a traditional classroom setting.

Upon completing the training and course, all passing students will receive their WFA certificate through SOLO. This course is also for those who need to renew their WFA or Wilderness First Responder certification.

Costs range from $40 to $199. Visit dnk.presents.com/event/wilderness-first-aid-course for more information.
