INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) today announced that 1,253 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 72,254 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 2,821 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 10 over the previous day. Another 202 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 817,104 tests for unique individuals have been reported to ISDH, up from 804,345 on Thursday.
Bartholomew County is reporting 766 positive cases (up 12) with 47 deaths (no change).
The Bartholomew County Health Department reported that 11,959 total tests have been administered in the county with the 766 positive results as of Friday. There are 11,193 negative tests, with 323 tests pending, the health department said.
The number of positives of Bartholomew County residents may include testing that was conducted out of county. Conversely, the number of total tests may also include submissions for non-Bartholomew County residents. The counts listed for positives and deaths is only for Bartholomew County residents.
Surrounding counties reported:
- Jackson County: 572 positive cases (up 10) with five deaths (no change).
- Jennings County: 220 positive cases (up five) with 12 deaths (no change).
- Decatur County: 332 positive cases (up eight) with 32 deaths (no change).
- Shelby County: 542 positive cases (up seven) with 27 deaths (no change).
- Johnson County: 1,719 positive cases (up 25) with 118 deaths (no change)
- Brown County: 73 positive cases (up two) with one death (no change).
As of Friday, nearly 33 percent of ICU beds and nearly 81 percent of ventilators were available across the state.
