A short-lived rain shower cooled temperatures from 95 to 84 degrees, but did little to curb the dryness that bordered on drought conditions.

Nearly 4,000 spectators fought sweltering heat to relive the ancient Highlands traditions of music, dancing and athletic contests at the Columbus Scottish Festival at Mill Race Park.
