Women’s Giving Circle to award grant

Staff Reports

The Women’s Giving Circle of Bartholomew County will award a $10,000 grant in unrestricted operating funds to one not-for-profit organization in Bartholomew County engaged in efforts that positively impact women and children.

The Women’s Giving Circle is a program of the Heritage Fund — The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County.

Members of the group voted COVID-19 relief as the focus of the organization’s 2020 grant program. The grant recipient will be announced at the Women’s Giving Circle annual meeting in October.

Women’s Giving Circle members recognize the COVID-19 pandemic has had a financial impact on Bartholomew County not-for-profits, a statement with the announcement of the grant said.

During this challenging time, the services that the not-for-profits provide are critical to supporting families in need, mitigating the impact of the pandemic on women and children and maintaining quality of life in the community.

The organization is encouraging applications from organizations managing ongoing programs that seek to improve the lives of women and their families. Applicants should demonstrate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on their organization’s operations and describe how the grant funds would provide beneficial support.

Applications are available on the Heritage Fund’s website at heritagefundbc.org/giving-circle/. Applications must be submitted by email, mail or in person to the Heritage Fund office by noon, Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The Women’s Giving Circle of Bartholomew County seeks to educate, connect and inspire women to practice strategic philanthropy, using collective strengths and financial resources to create positive change in Bartholomew County.
