State: 1,010 additional positive COVID-19 tests reported

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health today announced that 1,010 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 85,317 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.

A total of 3,001 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of nine from the previous day. Another 217 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.

Bartholomew County is reporting 985 positive cases (up 16) on Saturday, with 50 deaths (no change).

Surrounding counties reported:

  • Jackson County: 650 positive cases (up five) with seven deaths (no change).
  • Jennings County: 244 positive cases with 12 deaths (no change).
  • Decatur County: 367 positive cases (up two) with 33 deaths (up one).
  • Shelby County: 604 positive cases (up one) with 28 deaths (no change).
  • Johnson County: 1,910 positive cases (up 10) with 120 deaths (no change).
  • Brown County: 82 positive cases with two deaths (no change).

To date, 969,646 tests for unique individuals have been reported to ISDH, up from 958,432 on Friday.

As of Saturday, nearly 38 percent of ICU beds and more than 83 percent of ventilators were available across the state.
