Bull Dogs cruise

BLOOMINGTON — Nathaly Munnicha and Ella Wilks each shot 1-over-par 36 Monday to lead co-No. 6 Columbus North to a 152-200 win against Bloomington North at Cascades, site of this year’s sectional.

Gwen Anderson carded a 37 for the Bull Dogs. Yestika Nischol added a 43, Ratisha Rashmil shot 46 and Macy Euler had a 47.

East takes second

MARTINSVILLE — Columbus East edged host Martinsville 193-194 for second place in a tri match at Foxcliff No. 9 Franklin won with a 168.

Harley Gant led the Olympians with a 40. Peyton Meier carded a 45, Cristen Martinez added a 53, Carter Gant shot 55, Lilly Steinwedel had a 57 and Katie Hong finished with a 59.

Bulldogs top Panthers

NEW ALBANY — Jennings County came away with a 177-228 loss to New Albany at Valley View.

Alexis Carson and Lauren Galvan each shot 50 to leada the Panthers. Emma Jones added a 62, and Emma Kirchner had a 66.

Panthers nip East

BLOOMINGTON — Columbus East was tied with Class 3A No. 7 Bloomington South 1-1 at halftime, but the Panthers went on to post a 4-3 victory.

Alana Dwenger scored all three goals for the Olympians (1-2). Abby Miller, Nadie Harris and Ruth Federle had assists.

Bloomington South outshot East 15-8. Anna Liimatta recorded 10 saves.

Stars edge Olympians

Columbus East won both doubles matches, but Bedford North Lawrence swept the singles matches to pull out a 3-2 victory.

Derek Heideman and Matthew Degner beat Konley Woodward and Cameron Gatzer 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 at No. 1 doubles, and Erik Takahashi and Carlos Fernandez downed Caleb Jones and Nate Pemberton 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles for the Olympians (0-2).

East’s Pranav Kumar fell to Adam Tlustek 7-6 (5), 6-7 (5), 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Daniel Murphy lost to Steven Graham 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Emmit Romine fell to Graham Turner 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Jets notch first win

MILAN — Hauser picked up its first win of the season, a 4-1 decision at Milan.

Carson Rose beat Caleb Prozanski 8-6, 0-6, 10-6 at No. 2 singles, and Caleb Wallace downed John Scholle 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles for the Jets (1-2). Caleb Hoover and Levi Gollmer topped Charlie Jackson and Adam Volz 7-6 (1), 4-2 (injury default) at No. 1 doubles, and Dawson Paul and Hagan Wiedersatz defeated Jake McGuire and Brandon Bentley 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Hauser’s Eli Miller fell to Shane Phelps 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

Lancers win opener

MORRISTOWN — Edinburgh opened its season with a 4-1 Mid-Hoosier Conference win at Morristown.

Max Blandford beat Tyler Schonfeld 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, Travis Jones downed Grant Kessler 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Chase Littlejohn topped Bryce Bryant (M) 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles for the Lancers.

Edinburgh’s Trevor Moon and Cash Cunningham defeated Noah Klinger and Jacob Wood 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles. The Lancers forfeited the No. 2 doubles position.

Pirates top Panthers

NORTH VERNON — Greensburg won four matches in straight sets to claim a 4-1 win at Jennings County.

Jacob Vogel and Justin Ramey beat Sam Bower and Abe Tebbe 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles for the Panthers (2-4).

Jennings’ Owen Law fell to Brett Stringer 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Connor Euler lost to Isaac Tebbe 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Ryan Schuck fell to Karson Schneider 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Alex Leach and Greyson Jackson lost to Bryce Stringer and Drew Messer 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

Cougars sweep Shawe

GREENSBURG — South Decatur rolled in the first set and cruised from there to a 25-6, 25-15, 25-15 win against Shawe Memorial.

Karma Warren led the Cougars (2-5) with 12 digs and seven aces. Lana Bell pounded 11 kills, and Ali Jameson recorded 16 assists.

Also for South Decatur, Lana Bell notched 12 digs and one ace. Brook Somers added five kills and three aces, and Jameson served six aces.
