East rolls vs. Cubs
MADISON — Columbus East opened its Hoosier Hills Conference schedule Tuesday with an 11-0 rout at Madison.
Alana Dwenger netted three goals and two assists, and Abby Miller had three goals and one assist to lead the Olympians (2-3, 1-0). Sydney Berkemeier recorded two goals and one assist, Chole Miller and Nadie Harris each added one goal and two assists, Hannah Hemmerlein scored one goal and Alexis Spurgeon notched one assist.

East outshot the Cubs 32-2. Heidi Murphy played the first 20 minutes in goal and did not face a shot. Anna Liimatta recorded two saves over the final 60 minutes.
Panthers blank Eagles
NORTH VERNON — Morgan Lane scored four goals to lead Jennings County to an 11-0 win against Brown County.
Gracie Kirchner, Cassidy Mull, Zoey Ison all had a goal and an assist for the Panthers (3-4). Ellie Ebinger, Kenna Maschino, Delaney Burkman and Gabbie Bates all scored one goal, and Bree Galyen had one assist.
Jennings outshot the Eagles (0-2) 26-1. Isa Fogg recorded 11 saves for Brown County. Grace Ramey and Cheyenanna Leslie each played a half in goal for the Panthers in combining on the shutout.
BOYS SOCCER
North ties Trojans
Columbus North played to a 2-2 tie with Class 3A No. 12 Center Grove.
Nathan White had a goal and an assist for the Bull Dogs (1-1-3). Jesse Williams scored the other goal.
The Trojans outshot North 14-12, putting eight shots on goal to seven for the Bull Dogs. Colvin Iorio recorded six saves.
CAI tops Trinity
NEW ALBANY — Christian Academy of Indiana jumped out to a 6-0 halftime lead and went on to post an 8-1 win against Trinity Lutheran.
Zephyr Wilson scored off an assist from Conner Sims for the Cougars (1-3), who were outshot 28-16. Peyton Pollert posted 16 saves.

Bull Dogs fall in 3
BLOOMINGTON — Columbus North came close in the first set in a 25-23, 25-19, 25-17 loss at Bloomington North in its Conference Indiana opener.
Grace Chapman led the Bull Dogs (2-5, 0-1) with 20 digs and three aces. Madi Roop pounded nine kills, Reagan Kane recorded 29 assists and Madison White had six blocks.
Also for North, Sarah Bennett notched seven kills and three blocks, White had five kills, Roop tallied 12 digs, Kane added a block and two aces and Sydney Cooper served two aces.
Eagles win in five
NASHVILLE — Brown County was taken the distance before pulling out a 25-14, 25-21, 28-30, 21-25, 15-12 Western Indiana Conference victory against Owen Valley.
Abigail Bowman recorded 19 assists and three aces, and Londyn Koester had 22 digs and three aces to lead the Eagles (4-3, 1-1). Mary Rygiel pounded 14 kills, and Lauren Akles had three solo and one assist block.
Also for Brown County, Akles notched 12 kills, and Milly Patrick added eight kills and 12 digs. Rugiel tallied 17 digs, Natalie Suding had 16 blocks and Abigail Angebrandt contributed two solo and one assist block.
Cougars down Knights
GREENSBURG — South Decatur rallied from a one-set deficit for a 19-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-20 win against South Dearborn.
Lana Bell pounded 17 kills, and Lily Rigby and Savannah Bushhorn each served three aces to lead the Cougars (5-5). Brook Somers added four kills.
Lancers sweep Twisters
OLDENBURG — Edinburgh won three close sets in a 25-22, 25-20, 25-21 victory at Oldenburg Academy.
The Lancers improved to 4-10.
Trinity takes showdown
SEYMOUR — Class A No. 1 Trinity Lutheran won its showdown with Class A No. 2 Loogootee in a 25-12, 25-21, 25-11 sweep.
Kennedy Hoffman led the Cougars (6-2) with 14 kills and two aces. Bailey Reynolds recorded 31 assists, and Kamzi Gross notched 21 digs.
Also for Trinity, Sydney Jaynes pounded 13 Kills, and Stella Kleffman added seven kills. Bailey Reynolds and Ruthie Bingham each served one ace.

Spartans edge Jets
SHELBYVILLE — Hauser won three-set matches at both doubles spots, but Southwestern (Shelby) swept the singles matches to claim a 3-2 Mid-Hoosier Conference victory.
Caleb Hoover and Levi Gollmer beat Grant Emerick and Matthew Clements 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 1 singles for the Jets (2-5, 0-1). Hagan Wiedersatz and Caleb Wallace downed Zach Yeend and Ty Burcham 6-7 (16), 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Hauser’s Eli Miller fell to Tristan Pappano 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Carson Rose lost to Caleb Pappano 6-0, 7-5 at No. 2 singles and Noah Estes fell to Justin Swift 7-6 (4), 7-6 (3) at No. 3 singles.
Triton tops Eagles
NASHVILLE — Brown County won the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches, but Triton Central took the other three to claim a 3-2 victory.
Nolan Patterson blanked Caleb Anderson (TC) 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Josh Miller beaet 6-1, 6-3 (2-3) at No. 2 singles for the Eagles (2-3).
Brown County’s Aidan Burt fell to Ryder Goul 7-6 (5), 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Spencer Blee and Noah Cochran lost to Jack Baker and Quintin Potts 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, and Reid Davis and Eli Sichting fell to Auram Rund and Jared Schweitzer 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
Panthers nip Rebels
NORTH VERNON — Jennings County won three matches in straight sets in a 3-2 win against Southwestern (Hanover).
Owen Law beat Carter Harmon 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles for the Panthers (3-5). Jacob Vogel and Justin Ramey downed Tanner Jacobs and Austin Caldwell 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, and Alex Leach and Greyson Jackson (JC) topped Korben Schindler and Kenny Yount 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
Jennings’ Gage Gasper fell to Mayson Lichlyter 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles, and Connor Euler lost to Derrick Osborn 6-1, 7-5 at No. 3 singles.

Panthers top Eagles
NASHVILLE — Sophia Curry carded a 42 to win medalist honors and lead Jennings County to a 199-209 win against Brown County at Salt Creek.
Alexis Carson added a 47 for the Panthers. Lauren Galvan shot 52, Emma Jones had a 58 and Emma Kirchner finished with a 63.
Annika Evenson and Abby Padgett each shot 51 to lead the Eagles. Ainslie Winton carded a 53, Christy Sebastian added a 54 and Avery Patterson had a 61.
CROSS-country
Jet wins boys race
GREENSBURG — Hauser’s Ryan Ault won the boys race, and South Decatur’s boys and girls both finished second in a tri meet at Greensburg.
Greensburg won the boys meet with 18 points to 45 for the Cougars. The Pirates captured the girls meet with 17 points to 44 for South Decatur and 82 for the Jets.
Ault ran 18 minutes, 43 seconds for 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) for Hauser, which had only four runners, one fewer than the number needed to score as a team. Colin Kistler finished ninth in 20:37, while Alex Bower took 10th in 20:56 and Cameron Toole was 19th in 23:00.
Trevor Newby finished fourth in 19:19 to lead the Cougars. Jack Hamilton took 12th in 21:03, while Bradley Walling was 15th (21:52), Tyler Hibbard 16th (22:28) and Chase Kalli 17th (22:35).
In the girls race, Kate Hamilton and Emma Gatewood finished fifth and sixth, both in 25:10 to lead South Decatur. Bridget Nobbe took eighth in 26:16, while Brayley Sundal was 15th (28:21) and Clair Schoettmer 16th (28:31).
Amanda Steward led the Jets with a 13th-place finish in 27:34. Addison Jones took 18th in 28:39, while Tammy Essex was 20th (29:26), Reiss Kistler 22nd (30:16) and Kaitlynn Everroad 23rd (30:39).
