COLUMBUS, Ind. — The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Columbus Regional Hospital have decreased slightly over the past seven days, at one point reaching a low of four earlier this week.
As of Friday morning, there were five patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at CRH, down from nine the previous Friday and a record 22 on Aug. 24.
Two of the patients hospitalized on Friday morning were listed in critical condition and three were listed in stable condition, the hospital said. Four of the patients are Bartholomew County residents.
Though hospitalizations have declined over roughly the past week and a half, local health officials are concerned Labor Day weekend parties and gatherings could lead to a surge of COVID-19 cases in Bartholomew County over the next couple weeks.
