COLUMBUS, Ind. — A local woman who told officers she had been hiding in a Columbus home for more than a year due to multiple warrants for her arrest was taken into custody early Sunday morning.
Columbus police went to a residence in the 1400 block of Sycamore Street after receiving information that Tina L. Fleener-Tays, 50, of 1449 Sycamore St., was inside the home, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
The officers made contact a short time later with Tays who was in an upstairs bedroom. Tays was taken into custody without incident.
While searching two bags that belonged to Tays, the officers located drug paraphernalia along with several pills and tablets that she did not have a prescription for, Harris said.
Tays was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of a look-alike substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession or use of a legend drug or precursor, three Bartholomew County warrants and possession of paraphernalia, jail officials said.
She was being held in jail in lieu of $165,000 bond, jail officials said.
