JENNINGS COUNTY — Three people were injured in a crash involving a golf cart and passenger van in Geneva Township over the weekend.
Jennings County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to the intersection of County Road 700W and 300N at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies said a juvenile and adult male traveling in the golf cart were helicoptered from the scene to Riley and Methodist hospitals with critical injuries, and that a second adult male in the golf cart was transported to Ascension St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon. The occupants in the van were uninjured, deputies said.
The preliminary investigation suggested that the golf cart, traveling northbound on County Road 700W, failed to stop at the intersection and was struck by an eastbound Ford Econoline van that was approaching the intersection, deputies said.
The investigation is still ongoing by the sheriff’s office and the Indiana State Police Reconstruction Team, and names will be released at a later time, deputies said.
Jennings County EMS, Geneva Township Fire Department, ISP and St. Vincent StatFlight assisted on the scene.
