North blanks Southport

INDIANAPOLIS — Jenna Lang scored three goals Wednesday night to lead Class 3A No. 13 Columbus North to an 11-0 Conference Indiana win at Southport.

Lauryn Whitley and Alexa McKinley each added a goal and two assists for the Bull Dogs (7-1, 2-0). Laney Moore, K.J. Ely, Lauren Barker, Nitya Chenanda, Riley Schumm and Anna Donica all scored one goal.

Claire Lyvers notched two assists. Barker, Helena Ho and Rion Stevens all added one assist.

North outshot the Cardinals 28-1. Ella Furber recorded one save in the first half, and Layla Terry did not face a shot in the second half in finishing off the shutout.

Olympians top Trojans

Columbus East won its fifth consecutive match following an 0-3 start with a 4-1 victory against East Central.

Pranav Kumar beat Clayton Ellis 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, and Daniel Murphy downed Matthew Graf 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles for the Olympians (5-3). Derek Heideman and Matthew Degner topped Chubba Krider and Max Kohler 6-0, 7-5 at No. 1 doubles, and Carlos Fernandez and Erik Takahashi defeated Colton Plymale and Ian Maxwell 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

East’s Emmit Romine fell to Max Daniels 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3 singles.

Lancers edge Jets

EDINBURGH — For the second time in 10 days, Hauser won both doubles matches against Edinburgh, only to see the Lancers sweep the singles matches to post a 3-2 victory. This time, it counted as a Mid-Hoosier Conference match and gave Edinburgh its first MHC title in school history.

For the Lancers (4-3, 3-0), Max Blandford beat Caleb Wallace 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Travis Jones topped Eli Miller 6-2, 7-6 at No. 2 singles and Chase Littlejohn defeated Noah Estes 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

For Hauser (2-7, 0-2) Levi Gollmer and Carson Rose beat Cash Cunningham and Ian Buchanan 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles, and Hagan Wiedersatz and Dawson Paul topped Trevor Moon and Braedyn Johnson 5-7, 6-2, (11-9) at No. 2 doubles.

Eagles nip Vikings

WEST TERRE HAUTE — Brown County won three matches in straight sets in picking up a 3-2 Western Indiana Conference win at West Vigo.

Josh Miller beat Elijah Bahr (WV) 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, and Aidan Burt downed Kuy Charters 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Eagles (6-6, 2-2). Reid Davis and Eli Sichting topped Josh King and Conner Mackey (WV) 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.

Brown County’s Nolan Patterson fell to Dylan Lemon 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Spencer Blee and Noah Cochran lost to Ashton Matherly and Gavin McCoy 1-6, 7-5, (10-7) at No. 1 doubles.

Nathaly Munnicha fired a 37 to win medalist honors and lead No. 6 Columbus North to a 157-201 win against Martinsville at Harrison Lake Country Club.

Yestika Nischol carded a 39 for the Bull Dogs. Ella Wilks added a 40, Gwen Anderson and Macy Euler each shot 41 and Ritisha Rashmil had a 51.
