From: Nancy Warren
Columbus
When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, America’s fathers, sons, and brothers responded to the call for all eligible males to enlist in the battle against Japan.
That was a time in our history when families lived with fear for their loved ones who went into battle, but always with pride in their courage and love for their country.
My husband, Bruce Warren, was a Marine fighter pilot stationed in the South Pacific. His heroic action saved one of our destroyers and its crew just off Okinawa when it came under attack by a Japanese suicide bomber intent upon sinking it. Bruce received the Navy Cross and the Distinguished Flying Cross for his heroic action.
Two of my cousins each flew over 150 combat missions in Korea and Vietnam and received medals for their courage.
My pride in our veterans does not lessen.
When I heard Donald Trump speak of our veterans as "suckers" and "losers," I was both shocked and appalled. Donald Trump calls people ugly names almost daily. We all flinch, but do nothing about it.
This time, I will do more than flinch.
I am speaking up and hope that others will join me in sending a very clear message to Donald Trump that it is time for him to go!
