Around Town – September 12

Orchids to …

• Dart Liebrandt for the enlightening letter.

• the political party that recently took control of the city council and will soon have the county council.

• the continuing decline of virus deaths and cases.

• the folks for purchasing my lunch Sept. 5 at Musillami’s Drive-In as I was on my way to visit my wife in the rehab facility; it was appreciated, from Tom.

• columnist John Krull.

• those who support the protest of injustice, remembering that was exactly how this country was founded.

• Fairlawn Presbyterian Church for generous gifts to Smith teachers.

• Fox News for providing an in-depth reminder of the horrific 9/11 terrorist attack.

• investigating the Trump organization for corruption.

• Sharon Mangas for her letter.

• Jay Den at TCC Verizon store for his help in getting me a Samsung telephone and equipment.

• Nancy Warren for her view on our situation and speaking the truth.

• Keith Jones at Acra Auto for customer service above and beyond.

• the folks all over town who are kind and considerate in holding the doors open for me so I can more easily pass through with my walker, truly appreciated!

Onions to …

• elected officials who are losing their moral direction.

• the media reporting what they want us to know and dividing our country.

• those who value law and order over freedom as they shall have neither.

• the federal elected official assured as the most dishonest, most inept, and most dangerous leader of all time with the publication of the latest book.

• people who don’t realize when you raise your voice after every sentence like a question it means you really don’t believe in what you are saying.

• the soccer coach for taking a knee, setting a bad example by not respecting our national anthem and the school board for not doing anything to correct it.

• city officials who over-paid for an unused mall, are spending millions on an unpopular water park and closing a popular, conveniently-located and affordable golf course.

• those who believe everything being said about the federal elected official without evidence.

• those who are “losers and suckers” by not believing what the federal elected official said about our fallen and captured military brothers.

• singling out people who kneel while ignoring the president who has done far more to attack America’s service members and their families.

• complaining about a lack of 9/11 remembrance, but failing to remember the thousands lost to lying leadership last week.

• people who don’t realize there never was any intention to keep Greenbelt open.

• gullible folks who believe people named anonymous, that now supposedly recall hearing our leader disparage our soldiers two years ago.

• the medical professional blaming journalists for the effects of COVID-19 on the community.

• paying $700,000 to replace a less-than-10-year-old playground that no one may use because of COVID-19.

• canceling the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and not even bothering with the small American flags in the yard to honor all the fallen, disgraceful.

• those who lie on social media while trying to intimidate and bully people in their efforts to “be heard.”

• federal department compiling “intelligence reports” on journalists who published leaked documents as is done in dictatorships.

• the federal elected official’s complete lack of knowledge of U.S. history, saying the 1917 pandemic ended World War II.

• the church that reopened and catering to the contemporary worshipers.

• those trying to crucify the county official.

Happy Birthday to …

• Kirk O’Daniel from your family, co-workers and Donna.
