Pauline Dobbs, 93, of Brown County, Indiana passed from this life on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at Morning Pointe of Franklin.

Mrs. Dobbs was born on August 19, 1927 in Cullman County, Alabama, the 5th child of 14 of James Carl and Fannie Holland York.

On March 17, 1945 she married Virgil T. Dobbs.

Pauline was known as a hard worker. Having grown up in Alabama working on family lands growing cotton, she was not afraid to tackle any difficult jobs. She went to elementary school at “Battle Ground” which would still produce shells and arrowheads from Indian battles of the past. Pauline loved her flowers, pine trees and yard work. She participated in the Senior Kitchen Band and self-taught herself how to play the piano and guitar. Pauline was a member of the Christian Biblical Church of God.

Survivors include her children, Justin (Donna Byrne Dobbs) Dobbs, Peggy (Rev. Floyd Thomas) Thomas, Carolyn (John R. Piper Jr.) Piper, and Marilyn (Rev. Don Neal) Neal; grandchildren, Sheldon J.V. Dobbs, John R. Piper III, Donnie Joe Neal, Jill Piper Mills, Michael D. Neal, Daniel W. Neal, Lydia Neal Stewart, Jonathan L. Thomas, Brian C. Dobbs, and Joshua N. Neal; 25 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Lipsey, and brothers, Jackie York and Danny York.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil T. Dobbs on May 2, 1991; and siblings, Wallace York, Vivian York Dobbs, Robert York, Eural Nathan York, Marnell York Walker, Cranford York, Dwyane York, Billy Dove Burns, Mamie York Snow, and Donniver York.

Funeral services will be on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Steve Durham officiating.

Family and friends may call from 12:30 p.m. to time of services on Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Dobbs Cemetery in Brown County.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Dementia Society of American for Dementia Research.
