The right mindset, along with a healthy dose of grit and resilience, can help business leaders and the community bounce back from the unprecedented challenges and stress caused by the pandemic.
That was the message shared by Charlotte Westerhaus-Renfrow, associate faculty chair and assistant clinical professor in the Department of Management and Business Law at the Kelley School of Business-Indianapolis, during her keynote speech at the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce’s 111th annual meeting.
This year’s annual meeting, which was initially planned for March 25, in many ways was unlike any other in the organization’s 130-year history. The event was held largely online via a private YouTube livestream in order reduce the chances of spreading COVID-19. At least 94 people tuned into the live feed.
Only a group of a several dozen people — mainly comprised of sponsors and Chamber board members — gathered in person at The Commons, though they were required to wear masks and chairs were spaced out at least 6 feet.
In the past, the annual meeting has been held at The Commons and the former Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, among other locations, drawing crowds of hundreds.
