Thelma “Lois” Lambert, 90, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 24, 2020 at her home.

Lois was born May 3, 1930, in Greensburg, Indiana, the daughter of Estal Wayne and Icis Lenora Fourman Adams. On July3, 1948, she married Ray E. “Gene” Lambert.

Mrs. Lambert was a longtime member of Columbus East United Methodist Church. She was the secretary for the women’s city bowling league for many years. Lois loved painting and craft shows. She was a decorative artist who enjoyed painting on many different subjects. She collected cardinal pictures and figurines and loved taking pictures of family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters, Karen Lambert, Cheryl (Keith) Reeves, both of Columbus, Kathryn (John) Staples of Zenas, Indiana; grandchildren, Amy (Patrick) Henninger, Michael (Heather) Reeves, Sean Staples, Nathaniel Staples, Susan Staples; great-grandchildren, Ellery and Evelyn Henninger; sister, Doris Ann Barkes of Columbus; nieces, Brenda Barkes, Sue Barkes, Beverly Mocniak, Brenda Allen; nephews, Doug Allen, Pat Allen and Terry Allen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray E. “Gene” Lambert and brother-in-law, Max Leroy Barkes.

The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Rev. Charles Aigner officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. We do ask that visitors follow the social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.

Burial will be Garland Brook Cemetery.
