No. 13-ranked Columbus North drew a first-round bye, and Columbus East will play Hauser in Wednesday’s opening round of the North boys tennis sectional.
East (6-11) and Hauser (3-8) will meet at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, and the winner will face Edinburgh (6-6). North (12-1) will play Brown County (10-7) in the other semifinals at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The sectional final is set for 4:30 p.m. Friday.
In head-to-head matches between the teams in the sectional, North beat East 5-0, East beat Brown County 3-2, Brown County beat Hauser and Edinburgh 4-1, Edinburgh has beaten Hauser 3-2 twice and Hauser beat Edinburgh 3-2 once.
Meanwhile, in the Jennings County Sectional, the host Panthers will play Madison, and Greensburg will meet Southwestern (Hanover) in the first round at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The final is at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
In the Seymour Sectional, Trinity Lutheran will play Austin in the first round at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will meet Brownstown Central at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, and the final is at 4:45 p.m. Friday.
The North Sectional winner will play the Jennings Sectional winner, and the Seymour Sectional winner will face the Bloomington South Sectional winner in the Bloomington North Regional on Oct. 6. The regional final is Oct. 7, and the winner advances to the Oct. 10 Jasper Semistate to face the Silver Creek Regional winner
The semistate winner will play in the state quarterfinals Oct. 16 at Carmel. The state semifinals and finals are Oct. 17 at North Central.
