Donna ‘Lisa’ Branom Wallace, 65, of Columbus, died Monday, September 21, 2020 in Columbus. Mrs. Wallace was born October 19, 1954, in Jefferson County, Madison, Indiana. She was the daughter of James Arthur and Jean Branom.
She married George Wallace, November 29, 2008.
Lisa, as she was known to many of her family and friends, spent many of her formative years in Columbus. She was a cheerleader at Central School and was a member of the Columbus Senior High School graduating class of 1972. Lisa was a very gifted and talented individual. One of her dreams was to pursue a career in Nursing. She fulfilled that dream, graduating in 1982 from Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana, as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse).
She continued her career by receiving her RN (Registered Nurse) status and earning an ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) degree at Indiana University Bloomington, IN in 2005. Lisa served in many capacities in her profession including, former charge nurse at Silver Oaks Health Campus here in Columbus. A caring and knowledgeable professional, she was a mentor and encourager-in-chief to many who worked with and for her. In addition to her passion for Nursing was her dedication to her faith and love of the Lord.
Lisa became a Licensed and Ordained Evangelist with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. (PAW). She was a faithful member and worker of Calvary Community Church of the Apostolic Faith from 1978, where she served as a choir member, usher, health professional, Sunday School teacher, associate minister, and worship leader. She also attended Calvary Midwest Bible College and Theological Seminary, taking classes in Theology and Biblical Studies. She, along with her husband, Elder George Wallace, faithfully assisted Pastor Frank Griffin and the congregation of Thy Kingdom Come Ministries, Greenwood, IN in the early formative years.
Donna retired in December of 2019, after a passionate and impressive career as a nurse.
Donna Lisa Branom Wallace is survived by her husband of 11 years, George W. Wallace III of Columbus Indiana; son, James Harris of Bloomington, Indiana; brother, Ronald Branom of Columbus Indiana; nineteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; step-children, William John Wallace of Morgantown, Rachel Ellamae (Mark) Tucker of Montpelier and Clyde Edward (Megan) Wallace of Hartford City.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Branom; father, James Arthur Branom; sister, Robyn Branom; and daughter, Clarissa Russell.
Her compassion she showed for everyone was unmatched. As a loving wife, mother, sister, and irreplaceable grandparent she will hold a special place in all hearts she touched, family, friend, and acquaintances alike. We will love you always Nana. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Community Church of the Apostolic Faith with Bishop Charles Sims officiating. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Lambert Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home.
