Around Town – October 9

Orchids to …

• the political party with enough sense to realize the electoral college has long outlived its usefulness and should be abolished — an election should be popular vote, period.

• Dave Cleland for speaking the truth that this president is not a Republican.

• the fly that interrupted the VP debate to deliver an important message to American Christians.

• Mike Pence and Kamala Harris for acting as adults in their civil debate.

• those who will vote to throw the rascals out.

• the voting team for not allowing someone to vote without presenting a state-approved ID.

• the letter from Julia Stumpff regarding the courageous coach.

• Ron Dinn’s letter regarding masks and vulnerable people among us.

• the terrific, spot-on letter by Dave Cleland.

• Dave Cleland for an outstanding letter.

• Mike Pence for conducting himself like a true gentleman.

• Jan, Joyce, and the gentleman who helped me at Dairy Queen on Wednesday when I was ill and overheated.

• President Trump who has always protected pre-existing conditions.

Onions to …

• the letter writer who fails to mention other presidents have cheated on their wives while in the White House.

• those who wrongly blame the federal elected official for COVID-19 because no one would have been able to stop it, not even the doctors and scientists who can’t agree on the best course of action.

• an elected official coming home to vote, spending thousands in taxpayer dollars and exposing locals to the White House COVID-19 outbreak.

• the radicalized party.

• those who don’t realize U.S. adversaries know full well the federal elected official’s medical condition, it just needs to be kept a secret.

• the official for stating “The American people can make the best decision about their health” — we can, when given all the facts, which were downplayed or falsified from the pandemic’s beginning.

• the administration that can’t protect the White House from COVID-19, much less the American people.

• the super spreader federal leader for putting even more staff at risk by breaking coronavirus isolation protocol.

• the administration that cannot admit their error and lack of responsibility regarding the virus.

• the federal elected official attending a debate after attending a superspreader event a week ago Saturday, where everyone is supposed to be quarantining for 14 days.

• the individual who constantly interrupted in the debate Wednesday night.

• those still spreading the conspiracy theory that the former administration spied on the current administration.

• the candidate who had an arrogant sneer on his face through the whole debate.

• a very rude elected official who is mimicking his boss.

• the ones who called our elected official a liar.
