COLUMBUS, Ind. — CPD officers arrested a local man on several charges after receiving a report of a suspicious person on Tuesday evening.
Officers were sent to the 400 block of South Gladstone Avenue at about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of a suspicious man inside a vehicle. Officers made contact with the man a short time later who was identified as Jordan E. Axsom, 31, of Columbus, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
The officers noted that Axsom appeared to be under the influence of an unknown drug and they confirmed a parole warrant for his arrest, Harris said.
Axsom was taken into custody without incident and the officers recovered heroin and marijuana that Axsom had concealed in his clothing, Harris said.
Axsom was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for jail clearance and later remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and the parole warrant.
