State: 1,589 additional Hoosiers diagnosed with COVID-19

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health said 1,589 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories.

To date, a total of 149,166 Indiana residents are known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.

A total of 3,727 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 23 from the previous day. Another 233 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days. Monday’s death totals included 11 that were recently verified through further medical review, according to ISDH.

To date, 1,564,722 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 1,555,437on Sunday. A total of 2,533,863, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.

Bartholomew County reported 1,386 positive tests (up 11) with 57 deaths (no change) on Monday.

Surrounding counties reported:

Jackson County: 1,074 positive cases (up 10) with 12 deaths (no change).

Jennings County: 359 positive cases (up one) with 13 deaths (no change).

Decatur County: 494 positive cases (up one) with 39 deaths (no change).

Shelby County: 783 positive cases (up 14) with 29 deaths (no change).

Johnson County: 2,972 positive cases (up 25) with 127 deaths (no change).

Brown County: 128 positive cases (no change) with three deaths (no change).
