COLUMBUS
Johnny L. Bennett, 61, of Columbus, passed away at 3:36 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Johnny was born October 22, 1958, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Hubert E. and Flossie E. Frodge Bennett.
Mr. Bennett loved playing softball and bowling. He was a self employed car salesman and enjoyed many different jobs during his working life.
Survivors include his sons, Brandon (Marissa) Bennet, Matthew Galyen, both of Columbus; step-son, Bryce Kuhn, of Hope; grandchildren, Tori Kuhn, Carson Kuhn, Myles Galyen, Asher Galyen, Elaina Bennett, Josiah Bennett, Hudson Bennett; brothers, J.C. Bennett, Bobby Bennett; sisters, Wanda McCord, Karen Michaels, all of Columbus; several nieces and nephews and ex-wife, Linda Lininger of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Rev. Chris Moon officiating. Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place after the funeral service.
We do ask that visitors follow the social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.
Inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
