Rep. Greg Pence has introduced a resolution on the House floor that expresses support for designating Oct. 23, 2020 as a national day of remembrance for the victims of an attack on a U.S. Marine Corps barracks in Lebanon in 1983 that killed 241 U.S. service members.
House Resolution 1197 was introduced by Pence on Oct. 16 and was referred to the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, according to Congressional records. The resolution had three co-sponsors as of Wednesday, Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-WI; Gil Cisneros, D-CA; and Salud Carbajal, D-CA.
Pence is currently seeking reelection in Indiana’s Sixth Congressional District.
