Columbus police arrested a suspect after he crashed a stolen vehicle into a car and later assaulted and stabbed the other driver Friday morning.
At approximately 6:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Lincoln Park Drive in regards to a woman who was being attacked in a parking lot, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
When officers arrived they observed the suspect flee on foot from the area, Harris said.
The officers provided care for the victim, who was stabbed during the assault, Harris said. The individual was later flown by IU Health Lifeline to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where she is currently in stable condition, Harris said.
Officers located the suspect hiding outside of a residence in the 2500 block of 23rd Street a short time later where he was taken into custody, Harris said.
