COLUMBUS, Ind. — A warrant has been issued for the arrest Ryan T. Halligan, 29, of Columbus, in regards to the ongoing investigation into the stabbing of Emaly “Emma” Baxter on Friday outside of Hamilton Center Ice Arena.
Columbus Police Department detectives submitted the findings of their investigation to the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office who subsequently filed the following formal charges against Halligan:
- Attempted Murder (Level 1 Felony)
- Aggravated Battery (Level 3 Felony)
- Criminal Confinement (Level 3 Felony)
- Strangulation (Level 6 Felony)
- Auto Theft (Level 6 Felony)
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person (Class A Misdemeanor)
- Interference with the Reporting of a Crime (Class A Misdemeanor)
The warrant for Halligan’s arrest was issued in Bartholomew County Superior Court 1 with a $1,500,000 bond. Halligan remains in law enforcement custody at an area hospital.
