Andy Stohr // Columbus North senior cross-country runner
Stohr finished fifth in the Brown County Semistate in 15 minutes, 45.9 seconds for 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) on Saturday to help lead the Bull Dogs to the team championship.
His performance last week: “I’m happy with it. The team did well, and I feel like I was where I needed to be. But I’m definitely not content with it. I have a lot more in the tank, and I feel like I can improve a lot this week.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just make sure I prepare my body all week. Recovery is always important. I make sure I’m eating the right stuff and taking care of my muscles.”
Favorite drink: “Water”
Favorite food: “Anything spicy”
Favorite class: “I like my technology classes.”
Favorite sports team: “St. Louis Cardinals”
Favorite athlete: “Mo Farah”
Role model: “Coach (Danny) Fisher”
Best advice: “Always know that you can get better at whatever you do.”
Athletics goal: “My goal in the future is to compete for a national championship in college and be an All-American.”
If you could travel anywhere: “Qatar, just to run in the desolate conditions and a beautiful country and the cities in it.”
FEMALE
Hannah Johnson // Hauser senior volleyball player
Johnson led the Jets with eight kills, three blocks and seven aces in a three-set regional semifinal win over Indiana Deaf and with 21 kills and five aces in a five-set regional final win over Indianapolis Lutheran on Saturday.
Her performance last week: “I think as a team, we really played very well, but me personally, I think I really gave it my all because I was kind of scared it was going to be my last game, but I’m really proud of how I played.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I usually just pass with Aunaka (Wasil) a lot before the game, talk to (assistant coach) Christian (Case) some and then we just listed to music as a team.”
Favorite drink: “Cherry Coke”
Favorite food: “Any type of pasta like alfredo or lasagna”
Favorite class: “I really like my math class because Aunaka is in there, and I like my teacher.”
Favorite sports team: “Ball State volleyball”
Favorite athlete: “(Former Hauser, Ball State and Indiana Wesleyan volleyball player) Lauren Gross. I’ve always looked up to her.”
Role model: “My mom (Amy Johnson)”
Best advice: “To just always put it out there because you never know when you’re not going to be able to, and don’t take your talent for granted.”
Athletics goal: “I want to try make it back to state because it would be pretty cool to go back my senior year after I went there my freshman year.”
If you could travel anywhere: “Australia because they have all kinds of different animals there, and it looks really nice.”
