Seventh grader injured in early morning accident

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus Police Department officers are investigating a crash that occurred earlier this morning involving a truck and a pedestrian middle school student.

At approximately 7:25 a.m., a 2012 GMC Sierra truck driven by Stacy L. Ketner, 40, of Columbus, was traveling south on Maple Street when the vehicle collided with a student attempting to cross the street at the intersection of 27th Street, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The student, who is a 7th grader at Northside Middle School, sustained a leg fracture and was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
