Sharing an important message

Turning Point Domestic Violence Services held its annual Men Take A Stand event last week outside Columbus City Hall.

At the evetnt, Hutch Schumaker received the “Stand Up” award for his local dedication to raising awareness of domestic violence. Schumaker helped raise $15,791 of a $26,000 goal last fall for Turning Point, which was used to purchase a van for the nonprofit.

During the small gathering, speakers shared facts and figures regarding domestic violence and emphasized that it’s a problem the entire community must address.

Events like Men Take a Stand are important to helping draw attention to uncomfortable issues, and gaining support to finding solutions.
