• the church trunk or treats and the many neighborhoods practicing a safe and fun Halloween for the children.

• Brayden Haddix, Angie Haddix and Krystina Haddix for brightening up Streamside Drive.

• the kind manager at Qdoba for insisting that my lunch was free due to cash register technical difficulties.

• Republicans voting for Joe Biden because they are Americans first.

• those who know we will not get a perfect candidate ever, but it is best to vote for love, kindness, and empathy, rather than hate and bigotry.

• churches passing out candy and hot dogs and chips, making it a safe Halloween.

• Glenn Ferry for the best letter ever.

• Texas Roadhouse for saving my wallet for me when I forgot it, from a grateful veteran.

• Dr. Fauci, world renowned infectious disease expert, for standing strong although being mocked at rallies.

• voters who remember that if it works, don’t fix it.

• Tim and Pam Zeller for being wonderful neighbors.

• our great president Donald Trump, who protects out religious liberties.

• Joe Biden, who will protect and work for all Americans and bring our country together.

• God’s divine providence and protection for our free, wonderful country.

• the “in it to win it” attitude of our school corporation.

• the current administration pretending the pandemic is over and actively trying to end the Affordable Care Act when more than 1,000 Americans a day are dying from COVID-19.

• the wasteful road improvement project in the middle of a pandemic when fewer people are on the road.

• no one enforcing speed limit laws.

• Halloween.

• people that expect daily help but never lift a finger to help themselves or the helper.

• Daylight Savings Time.

• national polls designed to suppress one party’s vote.

• letter writer suggesting that the sentiments of the federal elected official are the same as his.

• the local administration that needs a spending diet instead of a road diet.

• those who do not wear a mask, please show some respect and concern for the health and safety of others in our community.

• the federal elected official and his administration for undermining this nation’s battle against the virus.

• the candidate considering Illinois as a model of how to do something.

• covering up, burying, and denying factual information about a threat to the national defense.

• those not wearing preventative masks on Halloween.

• having a wine walk and trick or treating but not Memorial Day or Veteran’s Day services for fear of the virus.

• giving a 17-year sentence to an individual who admits murdering another human.

• the people who say they are Christians, but act like the devil.

• politicians only now social distancing themselves from the federal elected official.

• the candidate going door to door in a rural neighborhood on Halloween during trick or treat hours.

• airport officials for the hideous new gateway signs.

• the person who took my political sign.

• saying the president did not downplay the virus while the federal elected official’s words said that he did.

• federal department that is, at taxpayer expense, defending the federal elected official who is accused of assaulting a woman decades ago.

• the panhandler at the big box store who pays no city or county taxes.

• parents who use their children to advocate for a political party.

• police who do nothing about the people speeding.

• the company CEO who needs to keep his political views to himself.

• no parking enforcement downtown.
