Eleven Columbus nonprofit organizations have each been awarded $2,000 grants from Centra Credit Union to help further their missions.
A release from Centra said the organizations receiving grants were nominated by Centra Team Members who feel passionate about the work these groups do in our community.
The selected organizations include Advocates for Children; Sans Souci; Columbus Fireman’s Cheer Fund; Love Chapel; Our Hospice of Southern Indiana; Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center; Bartholomew County Humane Society; Book Buddies of Bartholomew County; Foundation for Youth; Turning Point; and Bartholomew County School Supplies Assistance Program.
“Our Team Members love being able to support the causes they care about through this program,” said Jenni Carr, Centra community involvement officer. “Nonprofit organizations rely on this kind of support to be able to continue serving our communities, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The Team Member-driven grant program awarded 27 grants in total this year, amounting to $52,000 in support to the communities Centra serves.

“Giving back to our communities is essential,” Centra President and CEO Rick Silvers said. “These wonderful organizations do amazing work, and we are honored to support them during these challenging times. Credit unions were built on the philosophy of ‘people helping people.’ We know that we are stronger together.”
