The following closings have been announced Wednesday for Veterans Day.
- All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle branches are closed Wednesday. Branches resume regularly scheduled business hours on Thursday. For a list of branch locations and hours, to complete an online transaction, or to find a 24-hour BMV Connect kiosK, visit IN.gov/BMV.
- Columbus City Hall is closed Wednesday.
- City trash/recycling/compost and brush collections will run a normal schedule in Columbus. Loose leaf collection and street sweeping remain on schedule. The city Department of Public Works office will be closed Wednesday and reopen at 7 a.m. Thursday.

The Columbus City Utilities Office will be closed Wednesday. Regular business hours will resume Thursday at 8 a.m. If you have a problem with your water or sewer service, call 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.
- Bartholomew County offices are closed on Wednesday.
- Retail services at post offices throughout Indiana will be closed on Wednesday. Regularly scheduled mail delivery, post office box and caller services will also be suspended for the holiday. Customers requiring postal services can use the Self-Service Kiosk (SSK). The ATM-like kiosk, which accepts debit and credit cards only, can handle 80 percent of the transactions conducted at the retail counter such as buying stamps, mailing a parcel, or shipping an urgent letter or package by Express or Priority Mail.
