Law enforcement procession planned for K9 Diesel

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department will have a law enforcement escort for K9 Diesel, as he is transported for cremation.
The procession will begin at 3:30 p.m. today (Tuesday) and go south on Washington Street to Second Street, where it will pass by the Bartholomew County Jail before continuing east.
The sheriff’s department is working on details about the memorial service for the police canine, who was killed Saturday while pursuing a suspect in a domestic violence incident near I-65.
K9 handler Deputy Matt Bush’s vehicle is parked at the jail where community residents have been leaving flowers, cards and dog toys in remembrance of Diesel.
