INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health said 5,541 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 262,207 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 4,770 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 84 from the previous day. Another 255 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 1,969,088 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 1,952,202 on Monday. A total of 3,612,076 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
Bartholomew County reported 2,489 positive tests (up 45) with 62 deaths (up one) on Tuesday.
Surrounding counties reported:
Jackson County: 1,780 positive cases (up 47) with 31 deaths (up two).
Jennings County: 685 positive cases (up six) with 13 deaths (no change).
Decatur County: 1,070 positive cases (up 14) with 41 deaths (no change).
Shelby County: 1,520 positive cases (up 45) with 49 deaths (no change).
Johnson County: 5,245 positive cases (up 129) with 160 deaths (no change).
Brown County: 285 positive cases (up 10) with three deaths (no change).

The testing site in Columbus is located in FairOaks Mall at the former JC Penney location.
The Bartholomew Health Department and Windrose Health Network is also offering free COVID-19 testing.
Dates and times may vary, with evening and Saturday appointments available. The phone number is 812-379-1555, Option 1.
Testing will be available to all members of the public regardless of symptoms. Children as young as 2 years of age can be tested with parental consent.
