INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health said 6,912 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 282,311 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 4,952 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 63 from the previous day. Another 254 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 2,030,938 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,009,763 on Thursday. A total of 3,785,422 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
Bartholomew County reported 2,789 positive tests (up 121) with 62 deaths (no change) on Friday.
Surrounding counties reported:
Jackson County: 1,916 positive cases (up 39) with 32 deaths (up one).
Jennings County: 758 positive cases (up 13) with 14 deaths (up one).
Decatur County: 1,162 positive cases (up 40) with 42 deaths (no change).
Shelby County: 1,608 positive cases (up 22) with 53 deaths (up one).
Johnson County: 5,678 positive cases (up 147) with 160 deaths (no change).
Brown County: 302 positive cases (up two) with three deaths (no change).

The testing site in Columbus is located in FairOaks Mall at the former JC Penney location.
The Bartholomew Health Department and Windrose Health Network is also offering free COVID-19 testing.
Dates and times may vary, with evening and Saturday appointments available. The phone number is 812-379-1555, Option 1.
Testing will be available to all members of the public regardless of symptoms. Children as young as 2 years of age can be tested with parental consent.
Windrose Health Network is located at 911 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Windrose will also be utilizing a mobile unit at its Hope location. Windrose may be contacted at 317-680-9901.
