INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health said 8,526 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 359,429 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 5,748 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 60 from the previous day. Another 285 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 2,252,864 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,232,102 on Wednesday. A total of 4,402,956 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
A historic load of labs resulted in the addition of 1,058 historical tested individuals, 2,153 historical tests administered and 443 historical cases to Thursday’s counts.
Bartholomew County reported 3,800 positive tests (up 124) with 65 deaths (no change) on Thursday.
Surrounding counties reported:
Jackson County: 2,666 positive cases (up 116) with 38 deaths (up one).
Jennings County: 1,063 positive cases (up 39) with 15 deaths (no change).
Decatur County: 1,452 positive cases (up 34) with 46 deaths (no change).
Shelby County: 2,166 positive cases (up 36) with 61 deaths (no change).
Johnson County: 7,732 positive cases (up 249) with 177 deaths (no change).
Brown County: 422 positive cases (up 21) with six deaths (up one).

The testing site in Columbus is located in FairOaks Mall at the former JC Penney location.
The Bartholomew Health Department and Windrose Health Network is also offering free COVID-19 testing.
Dates and times may vary, with evening and Saturday appointments available. The phone number is 812-379-1555, Option 1.
Testing will be available to all members of the public regardless of symptoms. Children as young as 2 years of age can be tested with parental consent.
