Jets nip Lancers for 3rd

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh led 31-26 after three quarters Tuesday, but Hauser rallied for a 46-42 win in the third-place game of the Edinburgh Classic, avenging a loss to the Lancers seven days earlier.

Kyliegh Parrott led the Jets (6-7) with 13 points. Hannah Johnson added 11.

Gracie Crawhorn scored 19 points to lead the Lancers (4-5). Annelise Lollar added 12.

South Decatur takes 7th

EDINBURGH — South Decatur jumped out to a 19-6 lead after one quarter and went on to down Knightstown 44-16 in the seventh-place game of the Edinburgh Classic.

Lana Bell led the Cougars (5-9) with 18 points.

Panthers down Pirates

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County was supposed to host Columbus North on Tuesday, but with the Bull Dogs coming off quarantine, the Panthers picked up Class 3A No. 9 Greensburg and scored a 54-50 victory.

Juliann Woodard led Jennings (7-2) with 22 points. Lily Ernstes added 11 points, and Addyson Kent had 10.

Patriots upset Trinity

SEYMOUR — Class A No. 2 Trinity Lutheran fell behind 12-2 after one quarter and couldn’t catch up in a 51-33 loss to Vincennes Rivet.

Sydney Jaynes led the Cougars (11-2) with 17 points and six rebounds. Bailey Tabeling added 11 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Eagles rally past CC

Columbus Christian led 27-17 at halftime and 40-37 after three quarters, but Brown County rallied for a 61-47 victory.

Travis Ely and Ricky Stanley each scored 17 points to lead Eagles, who were playing their season opener. Carter Kelly added 15.

Cody Kiefer scored 16 points to lead the Crusaders (6-4), who were missing starters Garrett Spurgeon and Gavin Lustig because of illness. Gabe Ridder scored 14 points, and Jacob Conrad added 13.
