Lamona Pearl Knutson, passed from this life at the young age of 73 at 7:02 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2021 at the Columbus Regional Hospital. She was the loving mother of 3 children.

Lamona was born January 7, 1947, in Marsing, Idaho, the daughter of Thomas Tyler and Elvira Rieber Hobbs.

She raised her 3 children by herself by cleaning houses and doing dry cleaning, which led her to her long time career at Nuway Cleaners in Paso Robles, California where she worked for 17 years.

Lamona loved spending time with her family and grandkids. She loved playing card games, thrift shopping and eating out.

She was known for her quick wit, infectious smile and her kind and compassionate spirit.

Survivors include her children, Carol (Dan) Schuett of California, Douglas (Freda) Laktonen and Carmen (Karl) Laktonen both of Columbus; sisters, Fay and Gladys; grandchildren, Nick, William, Raymond, Trenton Egan, Heather, Dakota and Jesse; and a great-granddaughter, Lily.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Ted, Noah, Roy and Lloyd and a sister, Florence.

In keeping with the families wishes, cremation will take place and due to COVID restrictions there will be no services held at this time.
