William E. “Bill” Nolting, 82, of Columbus, passed away at 10:56 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2021 at Miller’s Manor Manor in Hope. Bill was born in Columbus on October 9, 1938 to Herbert C. Nolting and Clara T. Lagan Nolting.

Bill retired from farming and Lowes Distribution Warehouse in No. Vernon. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church where he enjoyed landscaping and taking care of the flowers at the church. He also was the janitor at the church preschool.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6045 East State Street, Columbus, IN with Pastor Doug Bauman officiating. Calling hours will be from 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church until service time. Burial will be held in the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his brother, Larry (Connie) Nolting of Columbus; nieces, Charity (Andrew) Keffaber and Charissa (Josh) Murphy; great niece, Maggie Wagner; great nephews, Matthew Murphy, Kreigh Keffaber, Jed Keffaber and Beau Keffaber.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert C. Nolting and Clara T. Nolting and a sister, Evelyn Nolting Scott.

Due to the new mandate limiting gatherings to 50 people, visitors are required to wear face masks and maintain social distancing. We encourage you to share your support with the family, being cognizant that others wish to do the same. You may be asked to wait outside the building as we comply with this mandate.
