
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health today announced that 4,744 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 583,160 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 8,872 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 42 from the previous day. Another 374 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 2,806,743 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,792,291 on Thursday. A total of 6,328,023 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.

Bartholomew County reported 6,216 positive tests (up 55) with 94 deaths (no change) as of Friday.
Surrounding counties reported:
- Jackson County: 4,123 positive cases (up 23) with 45 deaths (no change).
- Jennings County: 1,906 positive cases (up 20) with 35 deaths (no change).
- Decatur County: 2,399 positive cases (up 26) with 82 deaths (no change).
- Shelby County: 3,981 positive cases (up 38) with 77 deaths (up one).
- Johnson County: 14,273 positive cases (up 161) with 280 deaths (up three).
- Brown County: 848 positive cases (up four) with 29 deaths (up one).
