INDIANAPOLIS
Donald M. Cooley, 62, of Indianapolis, passed away at 9:03 a.m. January 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by family.
Donald was born April 21, 1958, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of James M. and Betty L. Massey Cooley. On January 9, 1988, he married Teresa “Teri” L. Crawford.
Mr. Cooley retired from Bode Electric after many years of service. He enjoyed golf, bowling and woodworking. Donald loved to spend time with his family, especially gatherings with outdoor cooking.
Survivors include his children, Sara (William) Pierce of New Palestine, Matthew (Heidi) Cooley of Columbus, Mike (Gloria) Gibson of Franklin, Mathew (Colleen) Gibson of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Kaleb, Kathryn, Kyle, Kellen, Keegan, Karsten, Kade, Korrine Pierce, Austin and Joslyn Soto, Isaiah Cooley, Zoey Gibson, Gia Gibson; sister, Kathy J. (Brad) Anderson of Hope; nieces, Laura Herron and Amy Menefee; nephew, Adam Anderson and his German Shepherd, Lady.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Teri.
A private visitation and funeral service will be held at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Dave Crandall officiating. Due to pandemic restrictions, we are limited to 50 people in our funeral home. We do ask that visitors follow the social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
