COLUMBUS
Larry Eugene Burnett (Burney), 78, of Columbus, Indiana, died in his home on Jan. 24, 2021, after an extended illness.
He was born in Butler, PA, the only son of his deceased parents, Leonard and Pearl (Campbell) Burnett.
He previously resided in Beaver, PA, Jamestown, NY and Fairview, PA.
Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen Gleason Burnett; his two sons, Chadwick Burnett (Cyndee) of Windsor, CO and Todd Burnett (Elizabeth) of Abingdon, MD; three grandchildren, Megan and John of CO and Emily of MD; and sisters-in-law, Sandra Green, Kristine Gleason and Jan Gleason.
Larry earned a BS from California State, MS from Oswego State, and principal and superintendent credentials from Youngstown University. He was employed at Freedom High School, was Director at Dean Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh and was employed in training and development for Kaiser Aluminum, Erie, PA and Cummins Inc. in Jamestown, NY, Seymour, IN and Columbus, IN.
A family celebration of Larry’s life will be observed in the Rockies at a later date.
