
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health today announced that 2,647 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 622,625 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 9,549 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 46 from the previous day. Another 376 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 2,940,233 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,930,353 on Thursday. A total of 6,929,205 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.
Bartholomew County reported 6,764 positive tests (up 37) with 102 deaths (up one) as of Friday. The county has a designation noting there is a large outbreak at the Bartholomew County Jail which has affected its positive case rate.
Surrounding counties reported:
- Jackson County: 4,348 positive cases (up 18) with 48 deaths (no change).
- Jennings County: 2,036 positive cases (up 11) with 38 deaths (no change, corrected from Friday).
- Decatur County: 2,528 positive cases (up nine) with 83 deaths (no change).
- Shelby County: 4,297 positive cases (up 16) with 82 deaths (no change).
- Johnson County: 15,456 positive cases (up 75) with 297 deaths (up one).
- Brown County: 900 positive cases (up two) with 34 deaths (no change).

As of today, 518,997 Hoosiers have received a first dose of vaccine, and 127,521 are fully vaccinated.
