Suspect accused of stabbing woman multiple times

Columbus police officers arrested a local man after he reportedly stabbed a woman multiple times during an argument early Thursday morning.

At approximately 2:50 a.m. Thursday, CPD officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Woodlane Drive in regards to a disturbance, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

When officers arrived, they located a woman who was stabbed multiple times. She was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, Harris said.

During the course of the investigation, the officers arrested Gregory S. Taskey, 37, of 201 Woodlane Drive, who was also at the residence, Harris said.

He was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was remanded with a 48-hour-hold on a preliminary charge of battery with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 Felony, according to investigators.

The Bartholomew County Jail is listing his bond at $15,000, according to jail records.

The investigation in this case is ongoing and is being handled by the Columbus Police Department Criminal Investigation Division.
