• Dr. Clock and Tipton Park Dentistry for sending quick notifications to patients as vaccinations open up to each new age group.

• Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger for an effort to return the GOP to the principles its stands for and away from the extreme divisive factions that misrepresent the party.

• the gentlemen from the city’s Public Works department for helping the seniors in the cul-de-sac on Monday, your kindness was so appreciated.

• President Joe Biden.

• the person who came and shoveled out my drive and walk to my porch on Bonaventure Drive.

• the First Amendment and the right to free speech.

• Cliff Kirkpatrick for treating us to DQ on Sunday, from the Fairlawn Presbyterian Youth Group.

• the Biden administration for fact-filled daily news conferences.

• Waylan and Kory Nolan for the nice surprise of having our driveway and sidewalks shoveled and salted all the way to the corner mailboxes, from your neighbors.

• the Bartholomew County Board of Health for adding a vaccination site at Mill Race Center this past weekend that was professionally done.

• Columbus Regional Hospital for making the process of getting our virus shots go so swiftly and smoothly, you are the best.

• Hope Moravian Youth Group for the Valentine’s package.

Onions to …

• the manager who does nothing but belittle and yell at her employees.

• public education, which is not so great.

• the far-right newspaper sent to me in the mail Monday because my local paper is much better reading.

• those thinking the endless griping about the former elected official would end with a new one here.

• the people who walk the mall opposite the posted signs, and for the mall not enforcing the posted entrance signs saying counter clockwise every day, no exceptions.

• the federal elected official for killing American oil and gas industry jobs making us dependent again on foreign oil.

• the ridicule and name-calling when expressing conservative views.

• all who believe we had an legitimate election.

• the ex-federal elected official for the mess he left behind, and the bankrupt gas business here.

• schools for not opening up their classrooms full-time for kids with special needs.

• the person who thinks it’s OK to change the time on other people’s timesheets.

• those who missed their civics classes to learn the U.S. is a democracy with three separate but co-equal branches of government.

• the former federal elected official’s election fraud lie that caused rioters to storm the Capitol and kill five people and threaten to kill many others.

• the former federal elected official and political party who campaigned on a promise of a health care plan yet never had any intention of producing one.

• closing the library for an inch of snow.

• the association for not cleaning the streets.

• giving all of us the privilege of looking at the dilapidated house, barn and junkyard.
