East falls just short
Columbus East led 32-29 at halftime Saturday, but New Albany rallied for a 66-58 Hoosier Hills Conference win.
Crase Bergman scored 15 points to lead four players in double figures for the Olympians (1-13, 0-4). Tyler Boyer added 13, while Will Rieckers had 12 and Jacob Pierce 11.
Crusaders split pair
NOBLESVILLE — Columbus Christian fell to Calumet Christian 53-42 before bouncing back to beat Legacy Christian 55-51.
Jacob Conrad and Cody Kiefer each scored 12 points for the Crusaders against Calumet. Gabe Ridder led Columbus Christian with 23, and Conrad added 15 against Legacy.
Panthers upset Floyd
NORTH VERNON — Jennings County trailed Floyd Central 22-19 at halftime before rallying for a 55-51 HHC win.
Keegan Manowitz led the Panthers (9-6, 3-1) with 19 points and six assists. Carson McNulty added 11 points.
Cougars win ‘Civil War’
GREENSBURG — South Decatur ran out to a 31-8 lead after one quarter and cruised to a 73-49 win at North Decatur in the schools’ annual “Civil War” battle.
Lane Lauderbaugh led the Cougars (10-6) with 39 points. Hunter Johnson scored 13 points before leaving the game with an injured wrist early in the third quarter. Tyler Sporleder also added 13 points.
Lancers rout Tigers
CROTHERSVILLE — Edinburgh ran its winning streak to five with a 66-34 win at Crothersville.
Isaac Roberts led the Lancers (15-4) with 14 points. Caleb Dewey added 13.
Tiger Cubs top Eagles
NASHVILLE — Greencastle jumped out to a 31-12 halftime lead and went on to hand Brown County a 65-28 Western Indiana Conference defeat.
Travis Ely led the Eagles (1-8, 0-6) with 16 points.

Columbus Christian splits
NOBLESVILLE — Columbus Christian bounced back from a 38-26 loss to Heritage Christian (Dyer) with a 30-26 win againt Granger Christian.
Kayla Jones led the Crusaders with 17 points and three steals against Heritage. Sarah Lorimor grabbed seven rebounds.
Jones had 11 points, 12 rebounds and eight steals against Granger. Lorimor added nine points and 10 rebounds for Columbus Christian (6-4).
Trinity takes sectional
EDINBURGH — Class A No. 1 Trinity Lutheran captured a 67-31 win against West Washington in the final of the Edinburgh Sectional.
The Cougars (19-4) move on to Saturday’s Springs Valley Regional, where they will play Class A No. 4 Loogootee in the semifinals at around noon. The final will be at 7:30 p.m.
Stars rally past Panthers
NEW ALBANY — Class 4A No. 3 Jennings County led by as many as 12 in the first half and led 40-39 after three quarters, but Bedford North Lawrence rallied for a 55-52 win in the title game of the New Albany Sectional.
Juliann Woodard led the Panthers (16-7) with 20 points and nine rebounds. Lily Ernstes added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Braves oust Eagles
ELLETTSVILLE — Brown County saw its season come to an end with a 59-35 loss to Brownstown Central in the title game of the Class 3A Edgewood Sectional.
Abby Fleetwood led the Eagles (9-8) with 13 points. Anna Fleetwood added nine.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Panthers finish fifth
FLOYDS KNOBS — Jennings County finished fifth in the Floyd Central Sectional with 171 points. The host Highlanders won with 519.
Reagan Brown led the Panthers with a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1 minute, 10.26 seconds. Brown also took sixth in the 200 individual medley in 2:22.00.
