SHELBY COUNTY — Shelby County deputies are continuing an investigation into the arrest of a man accused of standing in a roadway shooting at vehicles.
Sheriff Louie Koch said the department received a call Sunday about a man, who was not identified to the media by deputies, who was standing in the road way in the 6000 block of West State Road 44, shooting at vehicles.
When deputies arrived, the man fled in a vehicle and was pursued north through farm fields to County Road 100S. The pursuit then went west on County Road 100S, when deputies used stop sticks in an attempt to stop the vehicle.
The individual was taken into custody in the 8000 block of County Road 100S, Koch said.
At least one vehicle was struck by gunfire but no one was injured, Koch said.
