Tommy Lee Green, 76, of Columbus, peacefully died at 9:50 pm Thursday, February 4, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
Tommy was born August 1, 1944, in Columbus, the son of Charles and Lillian Alvenia Green. He married Betty J. (Goetz) Green on April 16, 1966.
Tommy graduated from Columbus High School in 1962. Tommy worked as a tool and die maker from 1962 until 2005. Tommy had many hobbies, however, he excelled at woodworking and gardening. He made several pieces of furniture for his church, St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. Recently, he made pens, jewelry, and lamps for his family and friends. Tommy was an avid gardener. He truly knew how to cultivate God’s land and enjoy His bounty. A man of many talents, Tommy loved fishing, camping, and go-cart racing. However, Tommy’s favorite hobby was supporting his grandchildren in all their sporting events and talents. Tommy had never known a stranger, as his big smile and friendly conversation will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
In keeping with Tommy’s wishes, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church; Father Chris Wadelton will be the celebrant. A live stream of the Mass of Christian Burial may be viewed at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at saintbartholomew.org. Memorials may be made to St. Bartholomew Catholic Church or C.A.R.E.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Darren Green of Columbus; a daughter, Gina (Green) Orrison of Columbus; granddaughters, Sydni (Quentin) Bruner and Alyssa Green of Columbus; grandsons, Lucas (Haylee) Orrison , Br. Nicholas Green of Cheshire, CT, and Zachary Green of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Carrie Green of Columbus and 5 great-grandchildren: Ayden, Matthew, Magnolia, Mackenzie, and Sawyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Michael Green and Terry Green.
