I-65 northbound lanes now open at 81 mile marker

All lanes of I-65 at the 81 mile marker are now open after an overturned semi was removed from the northbound lanes.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — First responders are reporting that a semi has overturned in the northbound lanes of I-65 at the 81 mile marker, blocking traffic.

I-65 northbound is experiencing backups into Bartholomew County at this time due to the accident. The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department is asking motorists to avoid the area by taking U.S. 31 northbound instead of I-65.

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies are directing traffic off the interstate at Exit 76 to northbound U.S. 31. The interstate is expected to be blocked for at least two hours.
