COLUMBUS

James Edward Hole, 79, of Columbus, passed at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility. Jim was born in Columbus on January 8, 1942 to James Henry Hole and Ruth Spiker Hole. He married Phyllis Ann Robertson on December 30, 1961.

Jim was a graduate from Nashville High School and retired from General Motors and was a truck driver. He enjoyed racing semi trucks and benchrest shooting competitions. He was a member of the NBRSA (National Benchrest Shooters Association).

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Day Sr. officiating. Calling will be 4 pm. – 8 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.

Memorial contributions will be made to Columbus Regional Hospital, Cancer Center, in care of Columbus Regional Hospital Foundation.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Hole; a son, Brian Hole of Columbus; a daughter, Jennifer Grant of Columbus, IN; brothers, Ronald (Linda) Hole of Nashville, IN, Harold Ray (Anita) Hole of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Ryan Hole, Taylor Hole and Morgan Grant; a great granddaughter, Chloe Wilson.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
